Serbia’s capital is hosting an international submission fighting tournament, and at the event, which began this Saturday at Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair, more than 500 fighters from the region and around the world will compete.

The competition in Belgrade began with a moment of silence for the tragedy that occurred at Vladislav Ribnikar Primary School, as well as the massacres in Mladenovac and Smederevo. Prior to the opening of the event, the director of Arena Channels Group, Nebojša Zugic, spoke, and he addressed the unfortunate events at the start of his remarks.

"To our great sorrow, instead of being proud and joyful today due to the holding of this significant sporting event, and expressing that feeling through this address, my speech will be filled with grief, pain, and mourning for the unfortunate victims of the two massacres that occurred in my beloved city, in my free state. The tragedy that has befallen the Serbian people is one that they do not remember, despite having experienced many in their heroic and liberating history," said Nebojša Zugic, adding:

"To the families and friends of the victims, and to all those who share their pain and sorrow, I express my deepest condolences on my behalf and on behalf of all the employees at our company. There is nothing that can return the lives, nor comfort their loved ones, nor are there words of consolation that can lessen this pain, but I am sure that the state and its leadership, our President Aleksandar Vucic, will have the strength to decisively respond to the evil that has befallen us and protect the citizens of Serbia, especially the most vulnerable, the youngest, and the innocent."

Zugic emphasized that Arena Channels Group will stand with the people of Serbia and, through its operations, provide maximum support for the measures of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in preventing such tragedies.

Bojan Golubovic, President of Serbian ADCC Federation

"As a media company that broadcasts 50 channels in the country and the region, we have always strived, we strive, and we will strive even more to promote a system of true values on our channels. A healthy life, engaging in sports, and creating a stronger and healthier nation. As before, we will promote all sports and continue to promote combat sports because now, more than ever, it is necessary to actively contribute to the development of stronger character and sound mind in children and youth in the right way. I regret that this happened at a time when, thanks to the advancement of sports and the realization of President Aleksandar Vucic's vision, the results of that work and effort have begun to become visible. When young people began to return to the newly built fields, playgrounds, pools, arenas, and other sports facilities. But for this country and this people, surrender has never been, is not, and will never be an option. Confident in victory, as we are now doing here by providing strong support to this small sport, I promise that we will continue to fight for the promotion of sports and a healthy life more strongly and decisively than ever before. I wish all athletes, coaches, and teams much success today and much success and happiness in their future endeavors. Long live Serbia," concluded the Director of Arena Channels Group.

Then, the President of the Serbian ADCC Federation, Bojan Golubovic, addressed the attendees, announcing that this is just one in a series of joint projects with Arena Channels Group.

"On behalf of the Serbian ADCC Federation, I wish to express my deepest condolences and sympathy for the victims that, unfortunately, some families have endured in recent days, and we join in their grief. Precisely for this reason, the ADCC Federation strives to attract more young people from the streets to the mats through the promotion of youth and to teach them healthier lifestyles. To steer them away from these difficult issues and towards sports and developing into healthier and better people. Accordingly, we have formed a partnership with Arena Channels Group led by Mr. Nebojsa Zugic, who has supported us to the maximum, as has Arena Sport TV itself. Thanks to them, this sport is receiving the right image and strength," said Golubovic, who presented a certificate of appreciation to Nebojsa Zugic as a token of recognition for his effort and dedication, and then added:

"In that spirit, I want to thank Mr. Nebojsa Zugic for his great help and announce the next competition at the end of autumn, in collaboration, of course. We expect another national championship during the year. Thank you for your support. Dear guests and competitors, thank you for responding in such large numbers. This year we exceeded all expectations, with over 500 competitors from more than 30 countries. Thank you once again, see you at the national championship at the end of the year and of course next year at another international competition."
